Simulated network
Staple's own test network: what it is, how everything on it is labelled, and what is still real.
Figures on this page are read from this server's own settings and data when the page loads. What it is
The simulated network is Staple's own stand-in for Solana, kept in Staple's database. It runs the same rules as Meteora's programs: the same bonding curve maths, the same fee split to the lamport, the same graduation steps and the same claim checks. Your wallet still signs every action. Nothing is ever sent to Solana.
It exists so the whole product can be built, tested and shown without spending real SOL. Launches, trades and graduations on it go through exactly the same code paths as on Solana.
How it is labelled
Anything simulated says so, every time:
- The network badge in the header, dashed and amber, on every page.
- sim SOL on every amount. It has no value and cannot be moved to Solana.
- Demo on coins, trades and wallets that Staple made up to fill the demo world.
- Dashed outlines: the design's marker for anything that is not real.
The test wallet and sim SOL
Wallet apps only know real networks, so the connect dialog offers a labelled test wallet on the simulated network. Its key lives in your browser only. It signs simulated plans the same way a real wallet signs messages.
When a simulated wallet runs short, the network tops it up with 100 sim SOL, at most once a day. Each top-up is recorded as its own faucet transaction.
Demo coins
The demo world is a set of invented coins launched and traded by invented wallets, all through the real launch and trade paths, so every chart, list and figure has something to show. Every demo coin, trade and wallet carries the Demo badge.
Commodity prices are never part of the demo: see below.
The simulated explorer
Simulated transactions have signatures that start with sim_, which no real Solana signature does. Their links open Staple's own explorer instead of Solana Explorer, and every page there starts with this line:
Simulated network: not a real blockchain. Staple's own test network. Nothing on these pages was sent to Solana, and sim SOL has no value.
It shows what each transaction did, who signed it, how simulated balances moved, and every address's sim SOL and coins.
What is real on it
- Commodity prices. The 20 market prices are real on every network, the simulated one included. See Market data sources.
- Your signatures. Every simulated action is signed by your wallet (or the test wallet) and checked before it runs.
- The rules. Fees, limits, graduation and who may claim what are enforced exactly as on Solana.
