Wallets on mobile
Connecting on Android with Mobile Wallet Adapter, on iPhone by opening Staple in your wallet app, and fixing a wrong network.
Figures on this page are read from this server's own settings and data when the page loads.Phone browsers cannot see wallet apps the way desktop browsers see wallet extensions, so Staple connects differently on Android and on iPhone. Either way your wallet app approves every transaction, and Staple never sees your keys.
Android
In Chrome on Android, Staple uses Mobile Wallet Adapter, the Solana standard for talking to a wallet app on the same phone.
Press Connect wallet
Choose "A wallet app on this phone".Approve in your wallet app
Phantom, Solflare or another Mobile Wallet Adapter wallet opens, asks you to connect, then returns you to Staple.Approve each action the same way
Every signature switches to the wallet app and back. A launch is one approval for both of its transactions; a trade is one approval.
iPhone and iPad
On iPhone and iPad, browsers cannot reach wallet apps directly. Open Staple inside your wallet app's own browser instead:
Press Connect wallet, then Open in Phantom, Solflare or Backpack
The link opens the page you are on inside that wallet's browser.Connect there
The page connects to the wallet automatically and asks you to sign in.
The wallet's browser is a separate browser: you sign in again there, and anything unfinished in Safari does not carry over. Start a launch after you have connected inside the wallet app, so the whole launch happens in one place.
Links opened inside other apps
Links opened inside social apps (such as X, Telegram or Instagram) open in the app's own small browser, which cannot connect a wallet. Open the page in Chrome or Safari first, or use the Open in wallet links. Staple offers a Copy link button for this.
Email sign-in
Continue with email is available on this server. It creates a Solana wallet for you through Privy, tied to your email address, with no app to install. You approve each transaction in Privy's window. Wallet apps keep working as before.
When your wallet is on another network
Wallets do not tell a website which network they are set to. Staple checks what it can and tells you when something looks wrong:
- No balance where you expect one. If your wallet holds nothing on Staple's network, it may be set to another one.
- The wallet does not list the network. Staple says so before you try to sign.
- A transaction never arrives. If your wallet sent it on another network, Staple says so plainly. Switch your wallet to Solana mainnet and try again.
